Mon. June 19 - June 22, 2017: Test Prep

During these days, students will work on prototype readings in preparation for the multiple choice portion of the exam, creation of an acceptable cheat sheet for the multi-source essay, and prepping for the major essay (single source).
The sheet for studying include the following:
* The "16 Common Errors" booklet
* The MOSES Stylistic/figurative Devices sheet
* How to write a multi-source essay
* How to write a single source introductory seven sentence paragraph.
* poem prototype reading and questions
* Excerpt prototype reading and questions
* Draft prototype reading and questions

Thurs. June 15, 2017: How to Approach the Multi-Source Essay

Today, we went over how what to expect on the final I also gave you a sheet explaining how to structure a multi-source essay in preparation for the final. Keep in mind that you get a cheat sheet of fifty words/symbols that has to be created by the end of day on Wednesday, and, if you want your own dictionary/thesaurus, I need these by then as well.
I also put a copy of a revised "How to write a multi-source introduction" in your portfolio to help you plan.

Keep in mind that you have until Wednesday to provide me with a fifty word/ symbol cheat sheet and your dictionary/thesaurus if you want one.

Wed. June 14, 2017: Hamlet Comprehension Exam.

Today, you wrote your Hamlet comprehension exam and the completed a teacher evaluation. These will not be reviewed until after exams are marked.

Tues. June 13, 2017: Hamlet Film Completion

Today, we finished viewing the feature film Hamlet. Tomorrow, you will write your comprehension exam.

Today, we finished reading Hamlet during RTI (arranged yesterday). The students then wrote a quiz for Act V. We then moved on to watching the film (the Mel Gibson Version).

Wed. June 7, 2017: Hamlet Act V: Novel Study Deadline

Today, you wrote your Act IV quiz and then we started reading Act V. We got up to Act V, Scene 1, line 150 (page 132).

Tues. June 6, 2017: Hamlet: Act IV

Today, we finished reading Act IV. Tomorrow, you will write the Act IV quiz and then we will start reading Act V.

We continued reading Hamlet and completed reading Act III. We then wrote the quiz. REMINDER: You have your novel study DEAD-LINED for June 7 (Wednesday). You have known about this date since the beginning of the semester and have been reminded of it often. Be sure to have your assignments handed in on or before that date.
